Description

Rotary floor sander, 17″ or 430 mm orbital heavy duty for concrete. An easy to use machine suitable for many applications including sanding wood, screed, concrete and floor coatings. The rotary floor sander can also be supplied with a steel disc with 3 x 175 mm cup discs for grinding concrete. The machine has a fitted 50 mm dust outlet to fit directly onto a dust control unit as standard, avoiding the need for a separate dust cowl to connect directly to a vacuum dust control unit.

Rates quoted are for one week. After a week a 25% daily charge is applied on days 8, 9 and 10 and then a full 2nd week’s hire charge is applied.

FAQs

Q – Is this machine easy to use for a for a first timer? A – There is a knack to it, so watch the how to video above.

Q – How do you fix the sanding sheets to the machine. A – the base plate slots onto the bottom of the machine and then simply place the sanding pad onto the floor and then ease the machine onto disc; friction and gravity will hold the machine onto the pad.

Q –  Will this machine take concrete floors down? A –  No, it just sands a floor smooth. A more appropriate machine would be a floor scabbler.

Q – Will this machine remove all the laitance from a freshly concreted or screeded for? A – If fitted with the steel plate with three grinding discs, the STR 701 is the most appropriate machine for that application.
